In France, the factories of Sarreguemines, Utzschneider & Cie, Creil and Montereau, Gien, Choisy-le-Roi, Lunéville, Longwy, Clairefontaine and Vieillard distinguished themselves in this type of production. All these faience manufacturers produced series of story plates (generally twelve in number) based on a theme and were very popular with customers.
