It is easy to recognized by its rocaille decorations of baroque inspiration and its graceful curves and counter curves forming asymmetrical decorative motifs. This homogeneous, feminine and delicate style is also Called rocaille style, Pompadour style or rococo style. Mme de Pompadour was the mistress of King Louis XV.

Louis XV, known as the "Beloved" reigned over the kingdom of France from 1715 to 1774, he was the only king of France to be born and die at the Palace of Versailles.
The Louis XV style is characterized by its elegance and lightness. It is recognizable by the grace of the curved legs of the furniture with "pied de biche"(deer foot).
The wood is natural, gilded or painted. The "rococo" style ornamentation is inspired by nature and exoticism.
