Let me introduce you to an other strange name in French furniture. The "table bouillotte" is a light, easy to move table with a small round top resting on a circular rim and four staight legs.
The name of this piece of furniture comes from the game called "bouillotte", a kind of poker which was very fashionable at the end of the 18th century. It was originally played on this round table.
Its four legs are tapered and fluted. The rim contains one or two drawers and sometimes slide-outs.
The top is covered with marble or marquetry and then encircled by a copper edging. A felt matting on the table can be added to play cards.
The table I am proposing you has all the usual characteristics of this type of piece of furniture. It is decorated with a very nice pink marble.

More Information
Style: Louis XVI
Louis XVI, who reigned from 1774 to 1789, is remembered as the last absolute monarch. The French Revolution of 1789 overthrew the monarchy by divine right and Louis XVI was guillotined on January 21st 1793.
The Louis XVI style is classical, inspired by Antiquity, the shapes are geometric, the legs of the furniture are straight and light, often fluted. However, under the influence of Marie-Antoinette, the ornaments are enriched with musical and rural attributes, ribbon bows giving a delicate touch to the furniture.
