This large Napoleon III-style "fauteuil crapaud" (toad chair) dates from the late 19th century. It deserved a makeover. I chose a bright, contemporary fabric. However, I respected the codes of the Second Empire: Chinese vases were fashionable at the time, yellow, blue and green were the dominant colours, along with red, in the fabrics of the period and, above all, I didn't hide the blackened wooden legs with castors at the front! Wherever you place it, it will invite you to rest while bringing a cheerful atmosphere!

Style: Napoleon III
Nephew of Napoleon I, Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte was elected President of the Second Republic in 1848 before becoming Emperor Napoleon III in 1852 following a coup d'etat.
Napoleon III style is one of the most interesting even if nothing is really novel with elements borrowed from preceding styles. Based on the taste of the period, Japanese, Chinese and Oriental art brings a richness, abundance and eclecticism specific to this period.
